This assignment was used to analyze and compare the difference between GLBA and HIPAA. It helped me better understand that HIPAA and GLBA are two landmark pieces of legislation in the United States that deal with information security and privacy issues. The assignment goes in-depth on identifying similarities and differences between the two pieces and shows which one is utilized better in different scenarios. It allowed me to understand how important cybersecurity plays a role in the medical and financial field and that we have certain regulations in place for a reason. HIPAA and GLBA gave me better insight on why we have data privacy protection and how an interdisciplinary approach is the focal point of protecting people's data.
